Surf boarding
I have been surfing about twice and both times I have enjoyed them thoroughly.
It is a great alternative to body boarding and an ideal family activity.
At first catching a wave can be quite tricky but when you have caught the
perfect wave it is thrilling as the ocean pushes you back to shore. If you
are a beginner, I would stay on your knees for a bit until you get used
to being on a surf board and then, if you are really brave, you can try
standing up! Either way they are both really great.
The basics are very simple but if you don't already know them, then get
an instructor or a life guard to show you, they are very useful to know.
This sport is great fun for the right weather, so if you are thinking about going surfing and it is a little windy please make sure you have asked a life guard if it is ok or keep a very close eye on your children. It may be potentially dangerous if the seas are too rough.
